NY Jedi Attend USPS Unveiling of Star Wars Stamps, MAY 25th; Incase you didn't know, Empire Station, in the Empire State Building, the United States Post Office unveiled their tribute to Star Wars 30th Anniversary by releasing a line of stamps with your favorite SW characters, with our very own NY Jedi crew on-hand to bring the Force home! Not only the General Manager of Empire Station was there to watch Udo and Dra'kazz, but the Post Master General himself witnessed the dazzling saber display in honor of Star Wars Stamps and the 30 Anniversary. The NY Jedi Stage at NY Comic Con II!!! 2/23-25
Not only did we feature multiple displays of saber duels, comedy, and visits with guests such as Tom McLaughlin (creater or Yoda, Jabba the Hutt and more!), our after-party was a great time! Check out the winners of SaberWars.com!

The team's next Comic Con appearance will be at Big Apple Con's NATIONAL show! We'll be presenting the latest installment of Light Saber Academy! Not only will we be teaching fight dueling demos and fight scenes, then discussed training for your own Light saber style.
NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS ARE COMING!!!
At the Big Apple Con in November, the New York Jedi finally introduced the 1st Northeast Regional Light Saber Choreographing Tournament to be held in February, 2007 at the New York Comic Con, Javits Center! Reg details coming soon!Last year, Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) back in November, and with Matt Wood, the voice of General Grievous, back in June.

The 33rd Annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade got to see NYJedi.com's 2nd Appearance, while partnering with Lucky Chengs Drag Queen Restaurant, and live band The Violets!

The team's latest appearance was at Big Apple Con on June 24th and 25th, presenting the latest installment of Lightsaber Academy! This show had dueling demos and fight scenes, then discussed training for your own Light saber style. We had a great time with Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) back in November. This time we're hanging out with Matt Wood, the voice of General Grievous! WATCH THE VIDEOS!!!We will also gave away a brand new Master Replicas Darth Maul Lightsaber at Captain Zorikh's Costume contest too! CONGRATULATIONS "ANAKIN SKYWALKER" BRIAN!

Thanks to everyone who came to the park that weekend! Especially, a huge shout-out to Latest Issue Entertainment for doing their article on us! Our 1st ever Spar Gathering was met by many new faces and seasoned pros! Read the sinny on the day, with pics and all... we also had alot of people show up with several DIFFERENT light saber products from great saber manufacturers show up! Master Replicas, Parks sabers, and Ultrasabers were all duelly represented!
A bunch of the crew have been getting together testing out the Darth Maul Double Sabers. NY Jedi'er D.Scin started the whole thing inviting a bunch of other members over to "test" it. Oh did they!

If you want to learn how to not only use a light saber, but create a fight scene, this class is specifically designed to show actual sword sparring techniques for stage and film. So glad you asked. A number of our members are combat actors, fight choreographers, former Military, and other various training in martial arts. We will be showing different striking and blocking techniques, and eventually will be creating an acting scene where light sabers will fly!- - -

"Jedi Academy": Ever wanted to know how to use a Lightsaber? The New York Jedi, Lightsaber enthusiasts sponsored by Master Replicas, will be presenting "Jedi Academy." With volunteers from the audience, they will describe various forms of sword fighting techniques, and how to apply them in your lightsaber fighting style. Then on to creating a choreographed fight scene for fun or fan film production.

WHERE: Fight House, 122 West 27th Street, 2nd Floor, New York
- TRAVEL: Just minutes away from mass transit A, C, E, F, N, R, 1/9 trains, Path train and close to Penn station.
- COST: The entrance fee is $20.
- AGE LIMIT- 18+: Unfortunately, due to the training facilities age requirements, we can only allow adults 18+ years of age. Children's classes are anticipated for January, 2006.
- REQUIREMENTS: You must have a saber or practice sword of some type to bring with you to the class. If you have a light saber, you may bring it with you (please do!), but understand that any damage incurred to any practice equipment by your participation is solely your own responsibility. DRESS CODE: Make sure you can move freely within some type of active wear.

The team's been at Big Apple Con performing random fight scenes and a 30 minute presentation of "Jedi Academy and Lightsaber training." Our Table is located on the first floor behind the escalators, right next to Carrie Fisher.We've had many people stop by the table, such as Arham from the Jedi Council Forums, and The Rebel Legion to say hi and see what NYJ is all about. And let it be known, the very first ligthsaber NYJ has ever sold was by Mike P. to a very happy Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher. She said upon receiving her 2005 Green Luke ROTJ Master Replica, "it's just not a day without a lightsaber."
At the next Big Apple Con in January, we will be presenting "Jedi Academy": The members of NYJedi.com will give a 15 minute presentation for a brief training session with volunteers on how to duel with a lightsaber. The newly trained Padawans will then enact a battle scene with their new talents and perform for the audience. Come and visit our table to order your very own lightsabers from Master Replicas! Scheduling will be announced.
The 32nd Annual Greenwich Village Parade encountered various lightsaber battles when we performed our Jedi / Sith Battle Enactment in the middle of the parade!
Very special thanks to the Empire City Garrison 501st Stormtroopers, for their outstanding work with the crowd control! They are the best at what they do!

The team made the airwaves on that Sunday night when NY Rocks! cable access show wanted us to come on the show and have us show our skills and say a few things about the art of lightsaber dueling. Special Thanks to Phil and Zorikh!
